* Dick shawn, a comedian who starred in the 1968 movie the producers, died of a heart attack while portraying a politician. just before he died, he announced, "if elected, i will not lay down on the job,".
* R. budd dwyer, a republican politician, committed suicide during a televised press conference. facing a potential 55-year jail sentence for alleged involvement in a conspiracy, dwyer shot himself in the mouth with a revolver.

The Annual gives it as 87, clearly she's just a baby when her Dad dies outside the church in 87, and her mom tells her when she's six, and all that, BUT I also know Rose is supposed to have been 19 when she first met the Doctor, BUT time travel took a year away from her in what... a week? Her DOB-Year is all irrelevant once you toss in time travel and parallel worlds where the time goes slower than it does here... and you get the idea.]
