[TM] 216 - Impossible
Feb. 28th, 2008 01:52 pmShe was on the pages of it. That Journal of Impossible Things. Drawn in the margins, sketched onto the covers of it all and she'd never set eyes on it. Just had the words from the archives to know it by. All the little things Martha had put down on paper. Jotted notes logged into the TARDIS mainframe as if maybe sometime in the future someone important would see it. In case things went wrong.
Things went wrong all the time. It wasn't even a doubt in her mind that Rose knew just how wrong things could go. He'd get distracted, or lost... or just made you think you were lost when everything else was exactly where he needed it. It was amazing in that odd sort of way that he'd manage to keep it all straight in his head. Figured he had a head for it. A mindful notion of just what really was impossible, and for him most of the time it was nothing.
Nothing was too far out of reach, too long ago or too off into the future. There could be a giant drooling slimey creature right in front of him. Something that could put the fear of well... anything right into him and they'd end up getting a greeting and a smile that made you wonder just who was that man? How can he just look at all the wrong in the world, all the bad and the evil and think that he can just make it better? That one man... if he's even a man really, can just fix it all.
But he can fix it all, and even more impossible is that Rose knows he will. He'll do it because he's The Doctor.
It's not even a doubt in her mind that impossible shouldn't even be a word when you're around him.
[ooc: totally au notion that the book got archived by Martha into the TARDIS mainframes]
